About Alton Tsosie

Greetings. My name is Alton Tsosie and I am part of the Diné (Navajo) Tribe. I was raised speaking the Diné language and practicing Diné culture. My mother’s clan is Yucca Fruit-Strung-Out-In-A-Line clan and my father’s clan is The Towering House. My maternal grandfather’s clan is Salt People clan and my paternal grandfather’s clan is Red House clan. I was raised in Winslow, Arizona also in Grand Falls, Arizona by my maternal grandparents and my paternal grandmother. I was introduced to the NAC or Peyotism at a young age. I would like to show my appreciation for this tradition through these special songs I am sharing here. I thank you all and I hope these songs enlighten you and your family. – Alton Tsosie, 2021
